Hydroponic Gardening

Gardening is among the most favorite pastime for many peoples. You will find many people who have their own garden irrespective of the size, space, and availability of plants. Many methods are also there to nourish the plants. If you search a bookstall you will get many books on how to be a good caretaker for your plants. In agriculture fields also for a plant soil is must. But if you tell other that you grow plants without soil they you are absolutely mad for them. But it is true. Now you can grow plans in your house without using soil. Advanced science has developed new theory of plant growing - Hydroponic gardening.

This strange name it self contains the basic of theory. The hydro means water, so you are using water as a base to grow your plants. This hydroponic system uses water as a medium to give nutrients to plants instead of soil. As we use water a main substance, there is no threat of soil borne pests and diseases, which hampers growth of a plant. In conventional plant growing system, we use soil and plants take their nutrients from this soil. In a soil the growth of plant roots is pretty high and rapid. Because; plant grows its root longer to search for water. So, you will find many plants with longer roots. But this not happens with Hydroponic system as you immerse the roots directly in to nutritive water.

That is why in Hydroponic system, we immerse the roots of plant in water and for support we use gravel, marbles, porous rocks, and even some vermiculite also. As there is no extra work for plant to search water, the roots also do not grow longer. But it does not affect the total growth of plant. A plant grown using Hydroponic will grow as much it grows when planted in soil. For the steady growth of a plant only you need controlled environment and need to change water frequently.

You will find many basic supporting systems, which can help you to make your work easier. The Continuous Flow Hydroponic System that keeps a constant flow of nutrients for the plant roots. This is most common method used for Hydroponic System. Another method is Aeroponics. In this method, the plant roots are held in air and are fogged frequently by using nutrient solutions. You will also find other methods suitable for commercial and hobbyist people. You can also go for Aquaculture, Nutriculture, or Water culture system where we keep plants root immersed in water containing complex mixture of dissolved nutrients, and fertilizers.

Commercially this method has been very successful. Many commercial growers are replacing their traditional methods of plant growing with the new method. And since it is the simplest method of growing plants you can use in your home, for your balcony garden, and also with your greenhouse. This method is also advantageous for your plants. Using this method you are with increased fruit production, excellent quality and rich nutrient food.
