Books for Plant Propagation

Plant propagation refers to the process of distribution of plants in a number of places. This process of plant propagation can take place either artificially or through a natural process. It includes both sexual and asexual propagation. Seeds are required for sexual propagation. Here, the plant that is ultimately produced may possess qualities that are completely different from the main plant. On the other hand, asexual propagation of plants refers to vegetative reproduction. In this case, the plants that are produced are exactly similar to the main plant. Both these methods of plant propagation include various other methods under them.

Owing to so many methods that are available, certain books that provide such information prove beneficial. One such book is Secrets of Plant Propagation. The book has been authored by Lewis Hill. It includes loads of information. The book gives the definition of ‘Plant Propagation'. It gives information about how to start growing flowers, vegetables all by oneself. Shrubs and trees can be grown. If you wish to create your own orchard, this book can be very useful. And if you wish to grow houseplants, this book is definitely a must-buy. You don't need to spend a lot of money to undertake Plant Propagation. Greenhouses aren't essential. You can use fluorescent bulbs instead. Seeds are cheap. Sometimes they are available free.

In case of shrubs, houseplants or trees information is given about how to collect the materials instead of buying them. This book makes Plant Propagation a fun activity. It can prove profitable too. The book has a number of illustrations to make it easier for the readers to understand. Another book that is extremely good is ‘Propagation Handbook' by Geoff Bryant. It gives you cheap and efficient methods to make your garden much bigger. This book will help you to propagate plants very easily. You can understand the instructions easily. The illustrations in the book are clearly given.

In a way, this book solves the mystery of plant propagation. It gives a detailed explanation of three techniques that are used for the production of plants. These techniques include producing plants through seeds, cuttings and division. This book also gives you complete knowledge about the equipment to use, the advanced techniques involved in plant propagation and further care to be taken. The book contains tables regarding lot of information. Thus, these are the two books that can prove to be a boon to those looking for easy ways to undertake plant propagation.
