Concrete Floor

concrete floor : Contemporary elegance

Concrete is the latest and the newest material of choice for designers and home decorators, as a tiling material. They can be stained, painted or colored, and can be seen everywhere these days, because of the elegance that they lend to the place. There are many advantages of a concrete floor, which is why people prefer it to other tiling materials like marble, mosaic and ceramic tiles.

Concrete floor : advantages

Following are some of the advantages of concrete flooring materials –
1. Firstly they are very easy to maintain and clean
2. If you have a concrete floor under your feet, you do not need carpets because they come in various patterns and designs, thus lending a nice aesthetic look to your living room.
3. They are ideal for places with diverse climatic conditions.
4. They are very easy to replace and change, if you are bored of them.
5. They come in different patterns, colors and stained materials, so that gives a beautiful finish to the floor.
6. Another important advantage of concrete floors is that they are durable, strong and long lasting. Also they are suitable for patios, living rooms, walkways and, office lobbies etc.
7. And last but not the least; rough usage of concrete materials is not a problem, because it can withstand any amount of roughness, without actually spoiling the look of the floor, which is not the case with other tile and floor materials.
Thus these are some of the advantages that make concrete a desired flooring material.

Installation procedure

Generally these floors need to be installed by skilled workmen and artisans. Installation includes pattern stamping, staining etc. There are do-it-yourself videos that are available, which you may consult, if you want to save the labor costs.

Costs

The cost varies from a quarter dollar to one dollar per square feet. If you hire artisans then they charge roughly 1000$ or their decided minimum cost. You can save on this if you do it your self.
The cost factor is also another advantage of using concrete flooring, because it is very cost effective, and costs less as compared to other flooring materials.
