» Seedling trees
By Allan Wilson | Published 12/8/2007 | Plant Propagation |

The plants that grow from the seeds of are the seedlings. Seedlings are the plants in young condition. Planting the seedlings of the trees is the most convenient method for plantation of trees

» Propagation Media and Fertilization
By Steve Boulden | Published 03/31/2007 | Plant Propagation |
A perfect propagation medium provides proper balance of water and air for the development of root system. An ideal propagation holds nutrients, secures and fastens the propagule for plant uptake. The medium must be from insects, weed seed and disease organisms. The characteristics of ideal medium will differ with environmental conditions, container size, temperature, plant species. The most common parts of a propagation media are peat, coarse sand, vermiculite, perlite and pine bark.
» Light and Moisture Consideration during Plant Propagation
By Steve Boulden | Published 03/31/2007 | Plant Propagation |
If you want to develop the plants properly, optimum light is essential. Optimum light plays an important role in the development of plants. If the light intensity levels are not in the desired range this may adversely affect the rate of development of plant. If the propagator wants he can change the light intensity levels. The propagator can also modify to enhance the growth and development of liner. Day length affects the growth of plants. Such plants are called photoperiodic plants.
» Temperature Considerations During Plant Propagation
By Steve Boulden | Published 03/31/2007 | Plant Propagation |
For successful propagation, temperature should limit the strees on developing propugale.Very high temperatures or very low temperatures may limit and affect rate of development of propugale. See to that there is no excessive water loss. Light levels should not go beyond the desired range. Excessive water loss may result into death of propagule.
» ZZ Plant Propagation
By Steve Boulden | Published 03/31/2007 | Plant Propagation |
Zamioculcas zamiifolia is commonly referred to as the ZZ plant. It is ideal for growing indoors. This plant is drought resistant. Even if it is neglected it won't suffer much. Low level of light, dryness in the air and insects can't cause much harm to it. The ZZ plant will do well when there is a lot of sunlight available.
